Lindsay is a teenage girl with a unique gift, but one that might literally be the death of her. In the small town of Willow Point, she discovers how evil can flourish in the commonest of places.
Submerged is a supernatural thriller film. A feature length movie intended for an audience 15 years and over, with strong potential in the Australian market, but also in overseas markets like Asia and the US. This film is intended for Cinema release, and eventually DVD and TV sales.
Submerged will challenge the stereotypical horror film, breaking conventions and challenging our concepts of reality. With moments of deranged and surreal imagery the film will create a disturbing atmosphere, all within the context of a simple story of a young girl searching for her place in the world. The film explores both Lindsay’s nightmares and her reality, at a time when the line separating the two becomes hazy.
Influenced by such films as The Ring and Silent Hill, Submerged creates a unique combination of the American-style serial killer film with Asian Ghost stories. It will create a mood similar to that of many Asian horror films, but again twisting the conventions of these stories to something different and unexpected. The story flows gently into a disturbing and mysterious puzzle, which our heroine Lindsay is forced to confront both personally and spiritually.
